Tow Pro Trailer Connector Accessories - Adapters
4 Way Connectors are most commonly used with boat trailer without the need of surge brakes and other light duty trailers. They allow for the basic hookup functions – Right and left turning lights, Brakes, Taillights and an extra pin acting as the ground wire.
5 Way Connectors are most commonly used with boat trailer with surge brakes and other light to medium duty trailers. They allow for the basic hookup functions – Right and left turning lights, Brakes, Taillights and an extra pin acting as the ground wire. The 5th connection is for the Reverse Lights.
6 Way Connectors are most commonly used with Gooseneck trailers and other light to medium duty trailers. They allow for the basic hookup functions – Right and left turning lights, Brakes, Taillights and an extra pin acting as the ground wire. The 5th and 6th connection is for the Electric Brakes and 12 Volt use.
7 Way Connectors are most commonly used with Camper, RV and 5th Wheel Trailers and other medium to heavy duty trailers. They allow for the basic hookup functions – Right and left turning lights, Brakes, Taillights and an extra pin acting as the ground wire. In addition to the 3 basic functions and ground wire, the 7 way connectors allow for Electric Brakes, 12 Volt and Reverse Lights.
7 Way blades also known as flats are more common and are found on newer model vehicles and trailer hitch. 7 Way round are usually found on older models and commercial grade trailers.
